I have known Laura for a few years, we got to know each other when our paths crossed when working together at Barnardo's, Laura's husband Pad I had never met before but after the first time I did I can hand on heart say they are beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside. They live local to Lichfield and it was important to them to use as many local suppliers as they could.
When they described their theme to me; Yurt wedding, boho style, relaxed, fire pits, outdoor games and making excellent use of their family business R & RW Bartlett who supplied the hay bales, carrots, potatoes, parsnips from the farm. I felt my soul come alive and had THE biggest smile on my face when they booked me.
As with all my wedding photography bookings I touch base with my clients as they develop their wedding plans and closer to their day incase any plans change. I took Laura to the Fig & Olive in Middleton and met up with her wedding planner Kate from a Moment Like this, where Laura talked about how they wanted local creatives for their wedding day. I felt truly honoured.
Laura got ready at her parents house in Shenstone where the her bridesmaids hair and make-up was done by (Make-up) Kelly Murray from Beauty Boutique Lichfield, (hair) Michaela Devlin of Black Sheep Hair, Sutton-Coldfield.
When Laura put on her wedding dress well it was just perfect! It matched her personality and style to a 'T' oh and I had complete back envy! LOL. Her dress was from Mews Bridal Clifton, designer Delphine Manivet. Her jewellery was a locket which used to be her nan's, perfect way to carry her with her :)
In Lichfield we are graced with a lot of independent and beautiful creatives and one of the best is Gemma Ramage who owns and designs her own clothes for her shop Bijou. She was one of Laura's bridesmaids and designed their dresses and they were stunning. Lovely blue floral fabric with a train at the back which just floated as they walked. Bridesmaids jewellery was from Daisy.
Laura and Pad's eye for detail on this stunning boho wedding was just impeccable, from the classic car, to the wedding flowers (Hayley & Sue Pestridge) to the groomsman suits. All a classic, yet modern blue (Salter's in Birmingham)
The reception and evening were hosted on a field they owed near her parents house as they had planned for a Yurt Wedding reception, this stunning yurt made me want to own a field and ditch our house! Just look at it! If you were on the edge about having a Yurt style wedding, jump on board people and get excited!
With the field hosting the camping, fire pits, outdoor games and much more the atmosphere was electric:
Now I've promised you on social media a wedding full of laughter, well wait no more these images show you only a glimpse of how much laughter was happening at this wedding.
So I hope these have whet your appetite and now you can't wait for your wedding day, or have changed your plans and now want a yurt wedding.
